ESAE-PASAE Joint Conference
Invitation
Dear Colleagues, Friends and Lovers of progress,
PASAE is on the move again…..
It is with great excitement that I invite you to the 8 Pan‑African Society for Agricultural Engineering (PASAE) Conference, being held jointly with our esteemed colleagues of ESAE in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Our journey across the continent—from Nairobi, Kenya (2018) to Rabat, Morocco (2019), Abuja, Nigeria (2021), Kumasi, Ghana (2022), back to Nairobi, Kenya (2023), Grabouw, Western Cape, South Africa (2024), and the historic city of Fes, Morocco (2025)—has consistently demonstrated the immense potential of agricultural engineering to address Africa's food security challenges. Each conference has built upon the last, fostering a robust network of professionals dedicated to the continent's transformation. Along the line, we have expanded our friendship and partnerships, working with several other professional colleagues from all over the world in CIGR, ASABE/AMAA, EUROAGENG, FAO, ICID to focus on African agric food systems.
This year's theme, on “mechanisation, digital agriculture, and climate resilience”, aligns perfectly with the African Union's Agenda 2063 and the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP). The choice of ESAE as our host and partner is particularly fitting. Ethiopia is undergoing a remarkable agricultural renaissance, and its Ministry of Agriculture has graciously opened its doors as our venue—a testament to the strong policy linkages we strive to cultivate. There is indeed much more to see and learn about the huge agricultural transformation on-going in Ethiopia.
So, join us in Addis and the alluring Ethiopian countryside to witness and be part of the unfolding history of momentous agricultural change.
I extend my sincere gratitude to our hosts, ESAE, and to the Government and good people of Ethiopia. I urge you to participate actively, share your expertise, and enjoy the warm hospitality of the Ethiopian people.
Addis, Ethiopia, here we come.
